How can I make an appointment?

You have several convenient options to book an appointment or get help from our team:

📱 Use the NHS App

The quickest way to pre-book an appointment with a clinician is through the NHS App. Simply download the app and register for your personal account to access appointment booking, repeat prescriptions, and more.

💻 Online Requests (Non-Urgent Issues)

If your issue isn’t urgent and can be managed without a same-day appointment, you can use our online service. This is ideal for:

• Medical help: e.g., skin rashes (with photo upload) or any other health concern

• Admin requests: e.g., reports, sick notes, or changes to your record

We aim to respond within 2 working days — often on the same day.

Need a Same-Day Appointment?

If you need an appointment on the same day, please call the surgery at 8:00 AM on 01509 277577, (or in you can also discuss this by coming in person)

When you call, our reception team will ask you some questions about your condition. This helps us ensure you receive the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.

🗣️ Why are we asking?
Please don’t be offended — our team is trained to ask these questions so they can direct you to the right member of the clinical team, whether that’s a GP, nurse, or another specialist.

Surgery Opening Hours and Appointment Information

Opening Hours:
🕗 Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Our clinicians offer appointments between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

🚫 We are closed on all bank holidays.

Phone Appointments

If you have a telephone appointment, please note:

• We cannot guarantee an exact time, even if a specific time appears in the NHS App.

• You will receive your call during one of the following windows:
  • Morning: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• If you miss the first call, we will try to call you a second time.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we may need to reschedule it to ensure other patients are not delayed.

Parking Information

Please note that our on-site car park is very limited and shared with the university, so it is often full.

🚶‍♂️ Alternative Parking:
We recommend using Car Park 5, which is just a 3-minute walk from the surgery and usually has spaces available.

Evening and Weekend Appointments

We offer additional appointments outside of regular hours:

🕡 Monday to Friday: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
🕘 Saturdays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

These may be telephone appointments or face-to-face consultations held at Rosebery Medical Centre in Loughborough.

At our practice, these extended hours are used for:

• Routine appointments

• Health checks and vaccinations

• Specialist clinics

• Urgent care needs

Blood Tests (Phlebotomy)

To book a blood test with one of our phlebotomists, you must have a request from a clinician or provide hospital-issued blood forms.

Home Visits

Home visits are available for housebound patients living within our practice area.

In most cases, you will be seen by the Acute Visiting Service. However, in certain situations, a GP or district nurse may visit you at home if clinically appropriate.

Please note the practice will provide services as per ‘You and Your General Practice’ except when unable to do so due to:

• lack of capacity
• closure due to staff training (half day each month)
• unforeseen events
• failure of NHS supplied software
• unable to assure a safe service
