We respect your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential and secure. It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give you the best possible care.
This information may be used for management and audit purposes. However, it is usually only available to, and used by, those involved in your care. You have the right to know what information we hold about you. If you would like to see your records please contact the Practice Manager.
You can access your medical records using Systmonline, find out how to register here.
You can also request copies of your medical records by completing an application form here.
The duty of confidentiality owed to a person under 16 is as great as the duty owed to any other person. Young people aged under 16 years can choose to see health professionals, without informing their parents or carers. If a GP considers that the young person is competent to make decisions about their health, then the GP can give advice, prescribe and treat the young person without seeking further consent.
However, in terms of good practice, health professionals will encourage young people to discuss issues with a parent or carer. As with older people, sometimes the law requires us to report information to appropriate authorities in order to protect young people or members of the public.
At Campus View Medical Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
We believe that kindness, understanding, and mutual respect are essential to delivering the best possible care. Our team comes to work to help others, and everyone has the right to feel safe and valued while doing so.
We will always aim to treat patients with courtesy, respect, and compassion.
We aim to listen, explain, and support you, even when circumstances are difficult or frustrating.
We are dedicated to ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in every aspect of our service.
We ask everyone who interacts with the practice to behave respectfully towards staff and others.
Aggressive, abusive, or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:
Physical violence towards any member of staff or other patients
Verbal abuse, including shouting, swearing, or aggressive language
Threats or intimidation of any kind
Discrimination, such as racist, sexist, homophobic, or xenophobic language
Being disruptive, bullying, or manipulating staff
Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause distress or stress to staff
Damaging, stealing, or failing to return practice equipment
Fraudulent behaviour, such as attempting to obtain drugs or services dishonestly
Any form of verbal or physical abuse towards our staff or other patients will not be tolerated.
Such incidents may lead to:
A formal written warning
Removal from the practice list, in line with NHS regulations
Police involvement where appropriate
All incidents will be recorded and investigated, and the practice will take whatever action is necessary to protect the safety and wellbeing of our team and patients.
We are deeply grateful to the vast majority of our patients who treat our team with kindness and respect.
