Register with this Practice

We currently accept registrations from:

  • Loughborough University students (and your partner/children)
  • Loughborough University staff (and your family)
  • Loughborough University partners staff (and your family)
  • Residents of Woodthorpe Lodge care home and Charnwood Lodge care home

If you move out of Loughborough on placement or for other reasons but plan to come back you can stay registered with us while away.

An important part of coming to University is ensuring that you look after yourself and your wellbeing.

Registering at the Medical Centre on campus will give you access to all NHS services to support you during your time in Loughborough studying.  The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic makes access to medical services more important. Detailed below you will find further information on:-

If you do not register at the Medical Centre we may not be able to see you on Campus and you may be directed to other services.

All patients registered at the Medical Centre have a named doctor who has overall responsibility for your care and support.  Dr Abbas is your named accountable GP. Download our Named Accountable GP leaflet here for further information

What to do BEFORE you arrive

To ensure you have access to NHS treatment we ask that you submit your patient registration form with us 2 to 3 weeks before arriving in Loughborough.

If you take regular medication, please bring at least 2 months supply with you from your current GP.

We will send you a text message to confirm your registration with us.  If you have not received a confirmation text within 10 working days of submitting your registration request, please contact us on 01509 277577.

What to do / expect when registered with us and arrived at University

When registered at the Medical Centre please contact us on 01509 277577 and book a consultation with a clinician to review your medication.  Any regular medication you are prescribed will be added to your health records.

General Information

Confidentiality and Consent

As a Medical Centre, confidentiality is of utmost importance to us.

When you turn 18 years old, your parents will no longer be able to access your records or discuss any medical conditions with us without your written consent.

We also advise patients to book and cancel their own appointments to prevent any confidentiality issues and ensure you update your contact details with us throughout your time here.

Meningitis Vaccination for Freshers

Students aged between 17-24yrs and starting university are strongly recommended to have a booster Men ACWY vaccination (which has replaced the Meningitis C) if you didn’t receive one in school. This is because it is now known that your immunity to the disease will have decreased and your risk of catching the disease is higher.  When you are registered please telephone us on 01509 277577 and arrange an immunisation appointment.  Please follow the links below for further information:-
